Recognized simply as Bartholomew, he is one of the songwriters behind the Grammy and Oscar-nominated song "Everything is Awesome" from the animated film The Lego Movie. He has also written singles for a number of artists like Delaney Gibson and Emerson Drive.
He was only three years old when he began singing and was heavily influenced by his parents' extensive record collection. Then, in high school, he was allowed to take a co-op class to record demos for school credit, jumpstarting his career.
He self-released his first full-length album And So It Begins in 2008, three years after his eponymous musical debut.
Born in Pembroke, Ontario, he was raised in a military family, hopping from base to base throughout Canada during his childhood.
In 2014, Tegan & Sara, along with the members of the Lonely Island, did a remix of "Everything is Awesome" for the Lego Movie Soundtrack.
