She studied industrial design at Universidad Anáhuac del Norte.

Her parents are Francisco Mitre Cendejas and Kitzia Jiménez-O'Farrill. She is the great-granddaughter of famous Mexican revolutionary Gustavo Baz Prada. She married entrepreneur Pedro Checa in November 2013. Their son, Pedro, was born in 2016.
