Chef who is known for his appearances on the reality TV cooking franchise Iron Chef. He first appeared on Iron Chef in Japan, before debuting on its US counterpart, Iron Chef: America.
He received practical culinary training in Su Shi and Kaiseki cuisine in Japan. He then moved to New York City, where he established himself.
He began on Iron Chef while serving as the Head Chef at the Manhattan Japanese restaurant Nobu. In 2011, he appeared as himself on an episode of the TV series Hawaii Five-0.
He was born and raised in Hiroshima, Japan.
While on Iron Chef, he competed against Bobby Flay on numerous occasions.
