NBA Coach and Executive who won 4 NBA Championships as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1980s and a fifth championship as head coach of the Miami Heat in 2006.
He played professionally with the San Diego Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns from 1967 to 1976.
He won the NBA Coach of the Year award three times and the NBA Executive of the Year award in 2011.
He married Christine Riley in 1970 and he has a daughter named Elisabeth and a son named James.
He played basketball for Linton High School, as did the great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
