Road and track Cyclist who won a gold medal in the 2012 Olympics competing for Great Britain in the team pursuit.
He attended St Ninian's High School in Douglas, Isle of Man.
He became known for his climbing ability, making him particularly effective in mountainous stretches.
His younger brother Tim Kennaugh also became a Cyclist.
He developed a close friendship with sprinting Cyclist Mark Cavendish.
