Canadian Entrepreneur who founded ATCO Ltd. and also opened an Equestrian facility called Spruce Meadows. He held additional executive positions in several other large companies, including Canadian Airlines and the Canadian Chrysler Corporation.
In 1947, he and his father started the Alberta Trailer Hire Company, a Business that eventually developed into ATCO.
He earned both Order of Canada and Order of the British Empire honors.
He co-founded Spruce Meadows with his wife, Margaret Southern. In 2007, he made his daughter, Nancy, Chief Executive Officer of ATCO.
He and Sleep Country Canada founder Christine Magee both became prominent Canadian entrepreneurs.
