When 27, Anand directed Salaam Namaste, starring Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta. The film was one of the biggest hits worldwide of 2005 and it established him as a major Director in the Hindi film industry.
Anand's second venture, Ta Ra Rum Pum was released in April 2007. The film stars Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji and was a semi hit at the box office. Anand's third one Bachna Ae Haseeno starring Bipasha Basu, Minissha Lamba, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor released on 15 August 2008. The film ran successfully worldwide and was a hit.
His fourth film Anjaana Anjaani, starred Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles, and was produced by Sajid Nadiawala. It was released worldwide on 1 October 2010, after a one-week delay. Although the film received a good opening, it was an above average grosser
Anand's last directorial film Bang Bang!, loosely based on Knight and Day starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif was released on 2 October 2014 and was a worldwide hit. The film’s overseas collections is the highest ever for a Hrithik Roshan film.
Anand will next be directing and producing Rambo, a Bollywood remake of Sylvester Stallone's Rambo, to begin filming towards the end of 2019. Yash Raj Films announced that Anand will be directing a film starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, set to release on October 2nd 2019.
