Colombian striker who has played for New York City FC on loan from the Corinthians. He has also won a Golden Boot after helping former team Chennaiyin win the 2015 Indian Super League Final.
He began his soccer career playing club with Envigado and made his debut in August 2010.
He represented Colombia at the FIFA U-17 World Cub in 2009 and the 2011 South American U-20 Championship.
He was born John Stiven Mendoza Valencia but goes by his middle name Stiven. He is originally from Palmira, Colombia. He has also lived in Brazil and the U.S.
He and Shannon Gomez have both played for New York City FC on loan.
