Israeli Politician who was the first ever native-born Prime Minister of Israel from 1974 to 1977 and then again from 1992 to 1995. He was assassinated by right-wing Israeli radical Yigal Amir, who was opposed to his signing of the Oslo Accords with the leader of Palestine Yasser Arafat.
During the 1948 Arab-Israeli War he directed Israeli operations in Jerusalem and fought the Egyptian army in the Negev.
