Saxophonist with the Yellowjackets as well as the leader of his own quartet. He also taught jazz composition at the University of Southern California.
He was inspired by a jazz quintet sent by the organization Jazzmobile to perform at his high school, New Rochelle High School.
He is a member of the Yellowjackets, a band which has consistently been voted Best Contemporary Jazz Group in the Jazz Magazine readers polls.
Both of his parents played in orchestras and symphonies.
He was classmates with Amadeus actor Tom Hulce at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan.
