He founded The Baghlan Group in the late 1990s and purchased the F.C. Baku in 2004.
He reportedly purchased the English football club Sheffield Wednesday for close to fifty million Euros.
He was born and raised in Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
