After completing an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Psychology at the University of Toronto, she moved to Los Angeles to launch a career in film and television.Miranda earned a full tuition scholarship at The Los Angeles Film School. She was selected for Film Independent's Project: Involve. She was chosen for the CBS Mentorship Program. And she was an honoree in the WGA Writer Access Project.With her first screenplay, Miranda won the Grand Prize in the Slamdance Screenplay Competition. With her first spec script, Miranda landed a Staff Writer position on "Spartacus: Blood & Sand" and Story Editor on "Sanctuary". She has also worked as a writer on the 5D Film "Ultimate Energy" and the 4D Film "Streets of Fury" in the Wanda Movie Park, and as a story consultant on other Theme Park Attractions, Live Action Theater, Dark Rides, Museums, and other Immersive Experiences.Miranda has developed several television shows, including an international martial arts series, and an event series based on her award-winning screenplay. Miranda also developed an original TV series with Critical Content and Ixtlan Productions, then sold the show to a premium cable network.In May 2016, Miranda joined the Writers Room for Season 4 of THE 100 on the CW Network.

Biography/Timeline

2008

Miranda's first television spec script House: The Transplant earned her a placement in the 2008-2009 CBS Diversity Initiative Writers Mentoring Program. She was also a Finalist in the NBC Writers on the Verge Program. In 2010, Miranda won a placement as an Honoree in the WGA Writer Access Project for professional screenwriters.[2]

2013

Miranda was a participant in "Project: Involve," a mentorship program at the IFP in Los Angeles. Through the Directors of "Project: Involve," Miranda was recommended for and subsequently won a full scholarship award at The Los Angeles Film School for their Feature Development Program – which she completed with Honors.

2014

In 2014, Entertainment One Television acquired format rights to the Finnish fantasy drama series Nymphs and will develop and produce a U.S. version of the TV series to be written by Miranda Kwok. [4]

2016

In 2016, Miranda worked as a Writer and Executive Story Editor on the television series The 100 on the CW Network. In 2017 she returned to the show as a Writer and Co-Producer. [5]
