Fashion designer and founder of indie label Vetements who became known as the artistic Director of the high end brand Balenciaga. He has also worked as the head designer for Louis Vuitton as well as a designer of womenswear for Martin Margiela.
He graduated from Antwerp's Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 2006.
He won ITS (International Talent Support) Collection of the Year in 2004 and served as a juror in the 15th edition of ITS Fashion Festival.
He was born and raised in Georgia. He has a brother named Guram. He told his parents he wanted to go into fashion when he was 16 and they refused.
He replaced fashion designer Alexander Wang as the creative Director of Balenciaga in 2015.
